Discover Eha: A Relaxing Wellness Retreat in Europe

Share

Set to open in summer 2026, Eha is a new wellness retreat on Estonia’s unspoilt Hiiumaa Island, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Here, guests embark on a journey of renewal, guided by a philosophy deeply rooted in nature and the rhythm of the seasons.

Encircled by the Baltic Sea and steeped in centuries of local tradition, Hiiumaa is one of Europe’s quietest islands, with some of its darkest, clearest skies. Two-thirds forested, with wild beaches and rare biodiversity, it offers the space and stillness that set the tone for every stay.

With just eight spacious suites and three forest cabins, Eha has been designed to harmonise with its surroundings. Interiors balance organic textures and contemporary Nordic design, creating calm, light-filled spaces that invite stillness.

Spearheaded by leading Estonian talent, Eha’s retreats are designed to align body, mind, and spirit, with the island’s unique five-season rhythm. Five distinct retreat programmes – summer, spring, autumn, winter, and springrise – guide guests through movement, nourishment, rest, and reflection, fostering vitality that lasts beyond departure. Led by Estonian-born Wellness Director Kai Laus, Eha’s programmes blend Estonian and ancestral healing traditions with evidence-based practices. From thermal rituals, nature immersion and breath-led movement to foraging and reflective sessions, each has been curated to meet the season.

Designed by acclaimed architect Tiit Trummal, with interiors by Studio Argus, UNT+CO, and Vaikla Studio, Eha’s spaces echo traditional Estonian forms while embracing understated Nordic design. Suites and forest cabins frame views of forest and sea, while an organic kitchen garden and local sourcing connect the culinary experience directly to the land.

Culinary excellence lies at the heart of the retreat. Green Michelin Star chef Peeter Pihel curates seasonal farm-to-table menus that celebrate the retreat’s kitchen garden, line-caught sustainable fish, and produce from trusted local farmers and foragers. Each dish is designed to support energy, digestion and overall balance, delivering nourishment with refined simplicity and visual appeal.

Co-Founder Eva Maran says, “Eha celebrates the essence of the Estonian people – renowned for their deep respect for nature, quiet strength, and enduring sense of community. Drawing on a heritage shaped by both resilience and resourcefulness, Estonians have long embraced the harmony of the seasons, the restorative power of the forest, and a lifestyle that values simplicity without compromise.”

This ethos flows through every detail of Eha, from its architecture and cuisine to its warm, grounded sense of place. At its core is a philosophy rooted in sustainability, seasonality and community – with immersive programmes, zero-waste principles, and transformation deeply anchored in nature.

Five-night retreats are priced at £5,000 per person (based on double occupancy), inclusive of all dining experiences and a curated programme of holistic wellness treatments and activities. Eha is available for exclusive use upon request.
