Where turquoise waters lap at white-shores, Baros has been offering a natural paradise since 1973. Baros offers an incredible Maldivian experience where guests can relax under towering palm trees, swim in crystal clear waters and discover wildlife native to the island as well as enjoy some of the most incredible night skies.
This New Year, join Baros Resort in the Maldives for the perfect sunny escape after the exciting festive season and make the most of its Eco Explorers Package where guests can embark on an immersive journey into the heart of conservation. Baros was the first EcoDive Centre in the Maldives to be certified by International Reef Check, which scientifically monitors, restores, and maintains the health of coral reefs around the world, therefore, is the perfect place to learn more about oceanic conservation.

Baros Eco Explorer Package
Led by the resident marine biologist at Baros, this immersive journey delves into the underwater world off the shores of the property. Commencing with a snorkelling tour along the Baros House Reef, explore beneath the surface to marvel at tropical life, which under blue UV lights—used during the fluo-night snorkelling adventures—turns into various neon shades. The package includes a presentation on coral ecology and restoration at Baros’ Dive Centre, a session on fish identification, as well as guided day and night reef tours. Guests can enjoy the memories of this experience for years to come as not only will the resort provide a flash drive for guests to keep with all their photographs and videos on, but guests will also receive a certificate of participation showcasing their conservation efforts and bi-annual updates on the progress of the planted coral for two years.

Guests looking to explore the ocean surrounding the resort can also enjoy experiences such as:
- Learning to dive: Guests can choose from PADI eLearning courses to begin their scuba certification online by completing the classroom portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course at their own pace from any location. After successfully completing the course, guests will be awarded an internationally recognised certification which means they can get the classroom sessions completed before arriving at Baros, so they’ll have more time for practical lessons and diving in the magical Baros waters.
- Snorkelling and diving in the Baros House Reef: Home to one of the acclaimed house reefs in the Maldives, Baros encourages snorkellers and divers to get acquainted with its underwater world. Experienced divers can reach the depths of the House Reef on two daytime dives, as well as embark on a nighttime dive, where the ocean sparkles with bioluminescence. This unique and private experience is a chance to learn more about Maldivian aquatic life whilst creating magical memories. For entry-level divers, there are snorkel and scuba experiences which also venture out after sunset.
