TimeChanger x Alain Silberstein

Unveiled on December 5, 2024 in Paris in the presence of Alain Silberstein, The TimeChanger x Alain Silberstein combines exceptional design and precision, pleasing collectors and professionals alike.

This quartz watch is powered by a programmable silicon micromotor offering high performance with just seven components – a remarkable evolution from the Lavet stepping motor, which has powered most watches since its invention in 1936. The TimeChanger x Alain Silberstein begins a new chapter in the history of watchmaking, returning Besançon, the historic hub of French watchmaking, to the forefront of this industry. of innovation and craftsmanship.

Users can choose between two dials, blue and black, both incorporating red and yellow hands – the emblematic colors of Alain Silberstein. Priced at €1,890 and limited to a series of 300 pieces, the watch can be purchased directly from The TimeChanger’s website, with international shipping available.

Buyers based in France may also purchase the chronograph from the Legacy Store in Paris and UTINAM in Besançon starting mid-March.

Programmable micromotors provide unrivalled power

SilMach’s expertise in programmable micromotors enables the watch to provide high-precision complications, offering flyback and rattrapante (split-seconds) functions with simple, playful and intuitive ergonomics.

The watch is operated by two buttons, for “start/stop” and “reset”. These are respectively red and yellow, in another nod to its renowned designer.

A true chronograph for professionals, TheTimeChanger x Alain Silberstein attracts design and technology enthusiasts alike with its high-performance timekeeping. Both the flyback and rattrapante (split-second) functions allow for automatic correction of handling times. Effectively, the watch ‘freezes’ the hand position to allow a time to be recorded, while continuing to track the actual hand position in the background. The hand returns instantly to this position once the button is released.

Pierre-François Louvigné, CEO of SilMach said, “By collaborating with Alain Silberstein on this unique timepiece, we are delighted to demonstrate our commitment to Besançon’s watchmaking tradition, while highlighting the timeless excellence of ‘Made in France’ products. We are convinced that this watch will be an iconic addition to every watch enthusiast’s collection.”

Alain Silberstein“This is a great moment in the history of watchmaking, and it’s a pleasure to have been able to work with SilMach’s engineers to design this watch. I am confident that it will delight anyone looking for a watch for every occasion.”
