How to have a Bridgerton inspired stag do

Party like it’s 1815, with a bachelor like Colin Bridgerton and the boys
This morning (13th June 2024), Netflix released its hotly anticipated Series 3, Part 2 of the smash series Bridgerton. We were left on the edge of our seats in Series 3 Part 1, when (spoiler alert) Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) proposed to his long-term pal Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan).
Without giving away any more spoilers, episode seven of Series 3 sees Colin enjoy his last night as a single man, as he celebrates his stag-do. We find Colin at a gentlemen’s club, sitting around a table enjoying a tipple or two accompanied by his elder brother Benedict (Luke Thompson), along with bar owner Will Mondrich (Martins Imhangbe) and John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli).
Despite Benedict offering Colin the advice: ‘I realise it is tradition to drink, but I believe that if the stag gets too drunk the night before its wedding, it runs the risk of being shot!’, stags look a little different nowadays than they did in Regency London.

But if you’re ready to party like it’s 1815, here’s how to have the perfect Bridgerton-inspired bachelor do, with hen and stag party experts Adventure Connections.
How to have a Bridgerton-esque stag party in 2024
First, you need a stately home. As the upper echelon of English society, the families of Bridgerton have money, power and respect. To get the feeling of being one of the Bridgerton gents, you need to book a stag pad with the wow factor and these places will get you started.
Party with a big group at Harvieston Hall, Edinburgh
You’d be forgiven for thinking you’re not in the 19th century at this Scottish Estate. Harvieston Hall is a grand 17th-century mansion house and this country retreat – which can cater for up to 40 guests in 15 spacious bedrooms – has high ceilings and luxurious decor will ensure you feel part of the Bridgerton set. Edinburgh city centre is just 30 minutes away.
Prices start from £100 pp.
Get a taste of city grandeur at Queen Anne House, Edinburgh

Add some Wisteria to the front of this pad and you’d be right in Bridgerton-land. Queen Anne House is tucked away in the middle of the Scottish capital. With five acres of private grounds and 10 opulent bedrooms, along with the immaculately maintained gardens, makes it the ideal setting for a memorable celebration.
Prices start from £300 pp.
Feel like part of the aristocracy at Cardiff Tudor House
This splendid manor features Bridgerton-esque opulent decor, a hot tub, a large garden with outdoor seating and a medieval style BBQ. Choose to venture into Cardiff city centre which is just 45 mins away, or chill in the pool with a drink in hand.
Prices start from £170 pp.
Then plan some ‘gentlemanly’ activities. The Bridgerton men would not be seen dead in fancy dress, or out at their local night club (not that these existed in 1815!). Instead, they’d be partaking in more sophisticated events that would be the envy of their lesser standing society peers.
Dabble in a spot of whiskey tasting
Drink the way the Bridgerton lads do, with a sophisticated whisky tasting session. At this 90 minute class, you will be met with great service from a whisky expert who will serve you four or six different varieties of whisky.
Prices start from £45 pp.
Re-visit Scottish nobility by playing Highland games

Some trace the origins of the Highland games back to the 11th century, when King Malcolm III organised a foot race to the peak of Creag Chòinnich near Braemar. He hoped this event would reveal the fastest runner in the region, who would then become his personal messenger. Play as an individual and in teams over a wide variety of games and events. If you’re the competitive type, you’re sure to rise to the challenge and really enter into the spirit of things wherever you hail from.
Prices start from £45 pp.
Become a classic 19th century artist with a life drawing class
Many significant art movements across the Western art world existed throughout the 19th century, including ‘romanticism’ and ‘realism’. Take a Bridgerton inspired art class run by an experienced tutor with, all the supplies you’ll need to test out your creative skills. Either have a spicy nude model, or, for more of a laugh, insist the stag join in with the poses!
