Firestone Grand Prix

Fancy a slice of motor-racing action, but missed out on tickets to this year’s upcoming Formula 1 series? Fret no more. For the price of a weekend F1 ticket to Silverstone, which can range from £618 all the way up to £3,510 per person, you can instead opt for a weekend of racing under the Floridian Gulf Coast sun in St. Pete/Clearwater

Taking place from 8-10 March 2024, the Firestone Grand Prix ignites the streets along the waterfront of downtown St. Pete, with top drivers from across the world flocking to the Gulf Coast to battle it out in the opening weekend of the ‘NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ championship.

Featuring a week-long festival-like atmosphere that includes the fastest racing series on the planet, celebrity athletes, live entertainment and interactive activities, visitors can get right in on the action in the speed zone, meet other like-minded fans in the IndyCar Series Fan Village, enjoy a local brew in the beer gardens, and participate in driver autograph sessions and interactive games and exhibits.

With Tom Blomqvist (a rookie British driver) set to take to the grid this year, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater President and CEO, Brian Lowack encourages visitors from across the United Kingdom to experience motor racing the Floridian way: “St. Pete/Clearwater is not only a place for sunshine holidays at the beach, but also a destination with a rich arts and culture scene, and an array of exciting sports events. Palm trees sway under a cloudless sky as these high-performance cars roar along the downtown St. Pete waterfront – it is truly something to behold. Motor fans from across the Atlantic have the chance to experience the excitement of street racing along with some of America’s Best Beaches for less than a weekend at Silverstone!”

Tickets for the Firestone Grand Prix start at £55 ($70 USD) for a three-day general admission pass, getting you track-side ready for the high-octane weekend. For petrol heads who want to get as close as they can, ‘Pit Passes’ with paddock access are only £118 ($150) for the entire weekend. Comparatively, an F1 ticket of a similar calibre at Silverstone can cost upwards of £3,510 per person.

Book it: 7 nights at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, including flights departing from London Gatwick with British Airways, departing 6 March 2024 from £1382 per person – https://www.britishairways.com/travel/holiday-finder/public/en_gb?preset=true&cities=TPA
