Share

If you really want to put a different slant on your Christmas celebrations this year head to King’s Cross where The Megaro, known for its colourful, quirky and unconventional attitude, is pulling out all the most surprising stops with its Yuletide offering.

This exceptional hotel is known for embracing the changing face of the capital and combining all the things that make life fun. Anyone who celebrates there this festive season can embrace a selection box of the finest food, the most creatively curated cocktails and the inimitable atmosphere which sets The Megaro apart no matter what the time of year.

The Megaro

Sure to be top of everyone’s wish list is the incredible fare that Chef Patron, the two- time Michelin star winner Adam Simmonds, creates at Spagnoletti. Complementing the à la carte offering are two outstanding set menus which similarly highlight Adam’s passion for seasonality, sustainability and provenance of ingredients.

The five-course Chef’s Menu comprises a collection of Italian classics, reimagined with Adam’s customary bold flavours, from Suckling pig & black pudding croquette, Tortiglioni with prawns, grilled octopus with salmoriglio sauce, roasted potato & taggiasche olives through to decadent salted caramel ganache, praline & banana ice cream.

The menu is priced at £55 per head, and for an additional £45 per head, diners can also enjoy a wine pairing menu expertly chosen by The Megaro’s sommelier.

Gold, green and red are the colours most associated with this time of year, but Adam is adding a new shade into the mix thanks to his exciting Mauve Menu.

The gastronomic comprises Scallops with fennel, apple, camomile; Artichoke, lardo & caviar; Beef Wellington, carrot puree, tender stem broccoli and Lemon parfait with fennel pollen ice cream, olive oil jelly, all for £85 per head.

Wine pairing is £65 per head encompassing vintages of the calibre of Champagne Jacquesson Cuvée 746, France NV, 2018 with its a delicate balance of ripe red apples, dried apricots and brioche notes.

Both menus are available until 31st December inclusive. On New Year’s Day, the restaurant will be offering brunch until 3pm.

Spagnoletti’s retro-futuristic space is divided into different environments thereby making it ideal for all manner of festive celebrations, whether it be for small groups, large parties or corporate gatherings.

Meanwhile Hokus Pokus, The Megaro’s ‘underground apothecary bar’, will be open Tuesday through Saturday with the exception of 24th, 25th and 26th December. Guests will therefore have plenty of opportunity to indulge in the 12-strong cocktail collection recently introduced that blends historical influences – with a particular nod to the Victorian era – with contemporary techniques.

Hokus Pokus will also be hosting a non-ticketed celebration complete with DJ on New Year’s Eve.
