In a cold snap, it’s not uncommon to experience streaming and persistent watery eyes, but this can be particularly frustrating when out and about. Eyes that over-water or stream are often actually caused by dryness, as they respond by overproducing tears to offer additional lubrication. To understand if you have dry eyes, Nicola explains, “Take notice of if your eyes experience over watering in windy or sunny conditions, redness during the day, a mild itchy or irritated feeling around the eye and/or lash line, and a gritty feeling in eyes as well as heavy eyelids”.

To manage the symptoms of dry eyes and minimise streaming throughout the day, Nicole shares three simple steps:

  1. Spritz and hydrate

Dry eyes need extra hydration, simple as that. Nicola says, “The Peep Club Instant Relief Eye Spray (£15) is made to be sprayed over closed eyes as it goes into your eyes as you blink. The formula is made of sodium hyaluronate and wild harvested sea buckthorn, so it is great on the skin around the eye too. Use it twice a day.” A great alternative for those who struggle with applying eye drops!

  1. Up the humidity

The Peep Club Portable Hydrating Humidifier (£55) releases a gentle mist to replace moisture in the air, helping eyes to stay hydrated in-between blinks and combating the drying conditions of modern homes and workplaces. Nicola recommends, “Using a humidifier whilst you sleep also helps to replenish your eyes and hydrate your skin. You’ll wake up feeling refreshed.”

  1. Get massaging

For those that suffer with dry eyes and therefore other eye complications such as watering and irritation, the Peep Club Eye Wand Pro  (£75) will be your best friend.

Nicola explains, “Peep Club was co-created with my co-founder Natasha in mind: she had perfect vision, but terribly dry eyes. She didn’t have time to sit there with her eyes closed with a heat compress every night, so we developed a tool that does the same thing: it heats up to melt the oil and messages to get it all flowing. The spray replaces the water layer of the tear film, while the wand helps replace the oil on the top layer, just like you would with skincare. Together they help regulate the tear barrier.”
