As we’re about to enter the Year of the Dragon (10th February), we’ve rounded up the best places to celebrate Lunar New Year in style, with fabulous Asian feasts, Chinese suppers and a Lunar Afternoon Tea.

Pan Pacific London X Bun House Lunar Afternoon Tea
Toast to fruitful new beginnings with a brand-new afternoon tea at Pan Pacific London in collaboration with acclaimed Cantonese Bun House. From 8th February, enjoy a stunning selection of sweet and savoury buns curated especially by Executive Pastry Chef Francesco Mannino and Bun House’s Co-Founder and Chef Z He – from the signature lamb and bamboo shoot through to Mandarin filled with custard (symbolising good luck in Chinese cultures) and a black chocolate bun. There’s also two sui mai baskets and an array picture-perfect patisserie. The collection is priced at £68pp and available 12.30pm to 4pm, seven days a week.

Lunar New Year Dinner at Chop Chop at The Hippodrome
For a dose of West End dazzle, celebrate at one of London’s most authentic and acclaimed Cantonese restaurants, Chop Chop by Four Seasons at The Hippodrome. Ring in the Year of the Dragon with a delicious selection of exquisitely crafted bite-sized buns and dumplings, such aschicken chiu chow dumplings and spicy beef buns with sweet potato noodles. For mains, indulge in Chop Chop’s signature dish, Cantonese style roast duck, described by The Financial Times as ‘the best in the world’, before finishing up with desserts, made in collaboration with acclaimed Japanese patisserie Sakurado, including the brand’s signature pistachio mille crepe cake and yuzu cheesecake. Open until 4am, it’s going to be a big night – booking recommended.

New Year Feasting at Straits Kitchen, Pan Pacific London
Available exclusively on Chinese New Year on Saturday 10th February, guests can indulge in a special six-course menu. Celebrations kick-off with a vibrant Rainbow Yu Sheng Bluefin tuna salad, paying homage to the tradition of tossing salad whilst sharing well wishes and luck with families and friends. Next, feast on Asian delicacies and elevated dishes such as Wagyu steak, braised abalone and steamed turbot before a delicious dulcey cremeux dessert with caramelised banana, red date ice cream and toffee sauce to round off the festivities. Celebratory Dishes at Omboo
Pan-Asian restaurant, Omboo, at Sopwell House will be offering five celebratory dishes to mark the Year of the Dragon. Available from 7th-14th February, expect the likes of lobster dumplings, traditionally eaten at midnight to usher in the upcoming year; and a Prosperity rainbow salad with salmon carpaccio, paying homage to the tradition of salad tossing with friends and family while sharing well wishes. Before leaving, pick up a Hong Bao lucky red envelope containing a surprise treat from Asian proverbs and dinner vouchers for Omboo, to a day at the hotel’s award-winning Cottonmill spa.
