- Celebrating 100 years of St. Pete Shuffleboard Club – the “Wimbledon” of Shuffleboard Venues
While shuffleboard may look like a ‘grandparents game’ to some, in St. Pete/Clearwater it has become a firm Friday night favourite for groups of all ages. The city’s community has kept the spirit of shuffleboard alive for nearly a century, and in 2024, St. Pete Shuffleboard Club will celebrate 100 years of operation.
The club is one of the original contributors to the creation of the set of rules for shuffleboard and it has become a place that creates a space for people to gather and participate in a leisurely activity while socialising with new crowds. The club’s celebrations kicked off by recently hosting the International Shuffleboard Association World Championships in October featuring teams from around the world and is set to ring in the 100 year milestone in 2024.
- New music at The Sound
Brand new to Clearwater, The Sound at Coachman Park is redefining the waterside outdoor concert concept. With a full line up for 2024 that spreads across genres from rock to blues, the newly-built pavilion offers 4,000 covered seats plus an additional 5,000 lawn seats amidst a stunning 19-acre park along the coastline in Clearwater.
From comedians to tribute acts (and the real deals!), the line up of events across 2024 is sure to have something for every member of the family – no matter their age!

- The Dali Museum’s displays some of the biggest names in art
New to The Dali Museum and running until April 2024 – leading up to the 120th Birthday celebration of Salvador Dali, Dali & the Impressionists is set to juxtapose Salvador Dali’s works with impressionist paintings from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. During the exhibition titled “Dali & the Impressionist: Monet, Degas, Renoir & More” paintings from The Dalí Museum are paired with impressionist works from the MFA to demonstrate the range and depth of the artist’s engagement with the movement.
For a more immersive experience not to be missed, Dali Alive 360° offers a multi-sensory art experience, enveloping visitors in 360 degrees of light and sound in the new museum space: The Dali Dome. Step into Dali’s life and watch on as the challenges and triumphs of his artistic career are illuminated in front of you.
- Ten years of SHINE Mural Fest
Returning for its 10th year, downtown St. Pete’s annual celebration of its ever-growing mural scene is set to be its best yet. The festival, which has received widespread international attention, is an outdoor exhibit celebrating art for art’s sake and sees renowned urban artists from around the world create incredible murals on the walls and roads of the city. In 2023, London based artist Dave Bonzai took centre stage with his style of ‘liquid chrome’ work.
During SHINE Mural Fest, which takes place every October, new murals will be added to the city’s art districts and surrounding neighbourhoods, and art lovers can follow mural trails and watch the artists in action as they take their creativity to untouched corners of the city.
- Hot new hotel openings
Set to open in 2024, a brand-new Moxy Hotel is coming to downtown St. Pete’s Edge District – a vibrant community home to a range of eclectic, locally owned business and in walking distance from all the action on Central Avenue. The 163-key Marriott hotel is set to be a cosy yet social hub, perfect for those looking for a base in the heart of the action.
Beachside, another hotly anticipated opening is the Hiatus Curio Collection by Hilton, set to open in February 2024, complete with rooftop bar and panoramic ocean views. If that wasn’t enough, both Opal Sands on Clearwater Beach and the Sirata Beach Resort are both undergoing impressive expansions. Finally, the recent opening of the luxe JW Marriott Clearwater Beach, compliments the incredible line up of beach front accommodation.
